N-Secure is a film directed by David Matthews; it was released on the 15th. The movie stars Cordell Moore as David Washington, Essence Atkins as Robin Joyner, and Denise Boutte as Tina Simpson.
The movie is about a controlling man (David Washington) and how far he will go to make sure everything goes his way. David and Robin are engaged, but right off the back you can tell that Robin isn't sure about their relationship. In the beginning scenes, it shows how obsessive David is with people being on time. David wants to marry Robin, but she isn't in love with him and realizes this the day before the wedding. She goes to her best friend, Jill played by Tempestt Bledsoe, who is also engaged and tells her that she may not be in love with David, but she does want to marry him because she doesn't want to go back to her old lifestyle of being dirt poor.
Jill's fiance, Issac played by Lamman Rucker, comes to Robin and David's home, while David is away, to dropoff a couple of things for their wedding. One thing leads to another and they end up "almost having sex" until David and Jill unexpectedly show up. Of course David calls off the wedding and Jill does as well. David, being the control freak he is, tampers with Issac's car and Issac is killed in a "car accident".
David finds a new boo, Tina, and begins his controlling acts again, but this time he goes a little over board. He begins to get aggressive with Tina and when she tries to leave he refuses to take no for an answer by putting a tracking device on her car and following her. He gives her an ultimatum, "Either you go home with me, or you go to jail for taking the car that I brought you" Which one do you think she chose?
While all of this is going on Robin is pregnant with David's baby and wants him to get a DNA test. When he does, he tips the nurse to switch the test so that he doesn't have to deal with Robin and her baby. He later tries to kill Robin the same way he did Issac, but she suvives and finds out that David also tampered with his DNA test. She drives to his house to tell him.
While Robin is trying to get to David, Tina is trying to get away from him. David is raged with jealousy when he sees a mark on Tina's neck, that happens to only be a burn mark. He hits her and when you think he's about to kill her, Robin comes and kills him first. Robin and her baby get most of David's money, while Tina gets his life insurance. The end.
Sorry I spoiled the whole movie for you, but it wasn't worth $10, so I'm actually doing you a favor. If I had to rate this movie, I'd give it a C-. It did keep me in suspense as to what David would do next to his girlfriends, but the acting was not at its best. I think they should have casted another actress for Jill's character because Tempestt was not impressing me at all. One thing I liked about the film was that there were a lot of silent scenes where the music would play and the actors lips would move, but you wouldn't hear what they were saying. It were as if the audience was supposed to know what was going on or make up their own assumptions.
Here is the trailer, please don't let it fool you.
